April Dawn Parker was raised in California and has worked in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago, New York, and now Marin County, CA. She is a graduate of Brown University, where she earned a BA with honors, and she completed one year of graduate study at Yale University School of Art in the MFA Graphic Design program. 

Parker’s work is in numerous public and private collections. She shows regularly at a variety of galleries and is frequently selected for national juried exhibitions. Her paintings have been included in such magazines as Sunset and CA Home + Design, and she has been profiled on CBS Bay Channel 5. Online, Parker's work has been highlighted by Saatchi Art and HuffPost. In 2015, Parker did a three month residency at the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts and in 2022, she completed a residency with Mother's Milk in Kansas.

Parker is represented by Andra Norris Gallery in the SF Bay Area.
